How can you use water wisely?

  • Turn off the water while brushing your teeth.

  • Use a bowl instead of a running tap for washing vegetables – you can save about five liters of water each time.

  • Only run the washing machine and dishwasher when full.

  • Plug the sink and fill it with water to wash dishes and cutlery – try and wait until you have a sink full, if possible.

  • Avoid rinsing dishes before loading them into the dishwasher.

  • Don’t run water when hand-washing dishes.

  • Shut off your sprinkler system when it’s raining.

  • Turn off the water when shampooing your hair.

  • Was your car with a bucket or have a hosepipe that shuts the water off when you are not using it.

  • Don’t let your swimming pool overflow when you fill it up.

  • Catch water in a bucket when you wait for the shower to warm and use that water to flush the toilet.

  • Report water leaks.

  • Fix a dripping or leaking tap.

  • Shower instead of bathing.

These are only a few examples of how you can use water wisely.
